Insects make up a huge proportion of all animal species on Earth and perform many useful tasks. However, they can also pose a significant risk to health, property and stored products including food.
We offer treatments for a wide range of crawling and flying insect species including:
What does insect treatment involve?
This depends on the type and species of insect being treated. All treatments begin with a survey (and potentially a period of monitoring) to identify the species involved and the scale of the problem to be solved. A number of options are then available such as:
Is the use of chemical treatments for insects safe?
At Squeak-a-Boo Pest Management we follow a strict risk-based approach to ensure that any chemical treatments are applied safely for us, you, your pets and other non-target species.
This includes selecting the most appropriate (and less toxic) products for the task, undertaking the necessary COSHH risk assessments and following strict directions provided by manufacturers.
Before a chemical treatment is applied, we will consult with you to help you understand the safety controls which have been put in place.
Please note that during spray treatments we may ask you (and your pets) to vacate the premises for a period of around 6 hours in order to allow products to be applied and to dry. Our staff are fully insured, and security checked.
Is there anything I can do to help ensure an insect treatment is successful?
Yes, there are a few things that we may advise that you do prior to, during and after an insect treatment such as:
As insects have a different lifecycle to other animals involving different development stages such as egg, larva, pupa and adult, it can take some time for treatments to work. In the case of fleas or carpet betels we may advise you to resist vacuuming for periods of at least three weeks following treatment to account for this.
